It is one of the most popular due to its rich heritage, warm and friendly people, tropical climate, scenic beaches and exotic handicraft. If you want to explore Goa properly I’d recommend you rent a scooter. Exploring Goa on a rented scooter is the best and the most affordable option. These scooters are usually available for INR 250 – 300 per day. Taxis here really add up and they don’t use a meter. Make sure you carry your driving license because there are many check points. If you get caught there will be addons in your travel memory.  Most of the beaches in Goa are dotted with sea facing shacks that are typically run by local Goan families.  Happiness is a day at the beach as it’s easy to spend almost an entire day sitting on beach beds of these shacks gazing at the sea. Sir George Everest was the Surveyor- General of India from 1830-1843 , responsible for   completing the Trigonometrical Survey of India  He built his house and laboratory at this hilltop in the year 1832,  The place was abandoned after his demise but afterwards, made open to touris ts. I am too eager to visit my home and relive my rejoicing childhood moments again and I hope that everyone in India is excited to celebrate Diwali with their family and friends.
