SURAJKUND 2018: Where Crafts and Culture Meet!!

It’s time for everyone to get revealed to the culture of Uttar Pradesh, a place Surajkund in New Delhi, is having a festival that is celebrated on yearly basis with the different themes and this time UP is the theme for them. It is a joint venture of the Haryana Tourism and Surajkund Craft Mela Authority. If your are willing to plan a visit to Surajkund Mela 2018, it is open to visitors from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm. If you own your vehicle it’s the best to travel to the place as the Surajkund place is not accessible to the local transport and the cab do charge high because you are not the only one to get the cab as there are million of visitors over there on a daily basis. As well as if you made the booking of the cab from the Surajkund till your desired destination then you’ll definitely have to wait 25 minutes till the cab reaches you.
The ticket price on weekdays is Rs 120 per person and for weekends it's Rs 180 per person.

Lies 8kms from South Delhi, the Surajkund is best connected with roadways, railways & airways.
By Metro: Board a Metro from Central Secretariat till Badarpur via Sarita Vihar and Mohan Estate. Plus, Badarpur lies close to the interstate border amid Delhi & Faridabad.
By Road: Surajkund is well-connected to Delhi, Gurgaon 





By Air: The location is a about 25 km from Palam Airport & 35-minute drive from the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

By Rail: Travel to Surajkund is possible as Delhi is the nearest Railway junction & Faridabad and Gurgaon are both linked to Delhi via Railway lines.

There was a Tomar chieftain named Surajpal who built a sun pool and amphitheater there. Surajkund is an artificial lake constructed in the backdrop of the Aravalli hills. Surajkund was a simple tourist destination, but in 1987, the first Surajkund Mela was organised and after that, it became one of the most popular tourist sites of Haryana where centuries-old crafts and traditions of India are given importance.
